Our main principle is that you always have full access to your data, regardless of your license.
The free version is designed to be fully functional for casual users. In particular, this includes cloud synchronization. This way, you can check how KeePassium works with your storage over time, and discover any sync issues before purchasing the app.
The paid version is intended for experts and business users. It offers advanced security and convenience features for people who actually need them.
There are several paid versions of KeePassium, fine-tuned for different users:
- Premium Subscription offers premium benefits for lower, but repeating payments. KeePassium's subscription comes with the rent-to-own license, because nobody likes renting their software.
- Version Purchase replicates the days of CD-box software. You can buy the current premium features for a single payment. To get new premium features in the future, you would need to buy the new version. This is similar to subscription, except you decide when to upgrade.
- KeePassium Pro offers a lifetime license as a one-time purchase. This includes all the current and future premium features, as well as lifetime support. (And no, there are no plans to create "KeePassium Pro v2".)
- Business License is a large-volume license for companies that need to enforce corporate IT policies on employees' devices.

TIP
Licenses purchased via App Store are linked to your Apple ID account, so one license covers all your devices. (As long as they are signed in to the same Apple ID account.)
