How to sync using SMB network drive

This guide explains how to sync KeePassium database with other devices using SMB network drive (network share).

Integration with iOS Files app

• Add your network drive (SMB server) to the Files app
  • Open the standard iOS Files app
  • Tap Browse → → Connect ot Server
  • Enter the server address and credentials, then tap Next
• Open KeePassium, go to Databases screen
• Tap + → Open Database
• Navigate to your database and select it

Troubleshooting

Server unreachable

When your SMB server is unreachable from device, KeePassium will do its best to show the last-seen local copy of database. However, many file operations may become unresponsive — this is a long-standing system issue. The quickest workaround is to restart the device.

Empty file

Sometimes the system's SMB implementation fails to download the database completely. In this cases, KeePassium shows that database is either empty or ended unexpectedly. As a workaround, try to re-add the database to the app.
